This Doctrinal Statement does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe. For purposes of Trinity Bible Church’s faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, our Ruling Elders are Trinity Bible Church’s final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application.
- We believe the Holy Bible, the Old and New Testaments, with its sixty-six canonical books in the original manuscripts is the verbal, plenary, inerrant and infallible Word of God, entirely without error or contradiction in all matters of which it speaks; we additionally believe that God by His singular care and providence has preserved His Holy Scriptures; and that the Holy Bible is, therefore, the only sufficient, final, and supreme rule and authority of faith and practice (Psalm 12:6-7, 119:89, 105, 152, 160; Matthew 5:18; 24:35; Luke 16:17; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12; 1 Peter 1:24-25; 2 Peter 1:21; Revelation 22:18-19).
GOD
- We believe that God is triune; that there are three eternal, co-equal, divine persons in the Godhead, and these three - FATHER, SON, and HOLY SPIRIT - are one God (Matthew 28:19).
JESUS
- We believe in the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ: that He existed eternally as the Son of God and that His flesh was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary (Matthew 1:1ff; John 1:1ff).
- We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ ascended into Heaven, and is now seated at the right hand of the Father; that He ever liveth to make intercession for all that come to God by Him (Acts 1:9-11; Hebrews 4:14; Ephesians 1:20-21).
SALVATION
- We believe that the only way to be saved is by recognition of and repentance of sin and faith in the blood sacrifice, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, as Lord and Savior; and that those who thus become His sheep, He says, “I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand” (John 10:28; Ephesians 2:8-9).
CHURCH
- We believe that the Church, which is the Body of Christ, began with the descent of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost; and that each one who receives the Lord Jesus Christ as His personal Savior is a member of the Body of Christ, and is indwelt by the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20, 12:12-28).
- We believe that the Gospel commission is for the Church; that the Lord’s Supper and water Baptism by immersion for believers only, are Divine Institutions and that Christ desires us to practice them in this age (Matthew 28:18-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29).
END TIMES
- We believe that Christ may at any moment return in the air to rapture the Saints, and that a Tribulation period of approximately seven years shall follow after which He will come to earth with His Saints, and rule for a thousand years. After this, the wicked will be judged and cast into the Lake of Fire (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 15:51-57; Daniel 9:27; Matthew 24:15-21, 27; 25:46; Revelation 20:10).
- We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust; in the eternal conscious punishment of the lost and the eternal joy of the saved (Revelation 20:11-15; 22:12-21; 1 Corinthians 15:1-58).
SATAN
- We believe that Satan is Lucifer, an active, fallen angel, the author of the Fall, and that he shall be eternally punished (Job 1:6; Genesis 3:1-9; Revelation 20:10).
LIFE
- We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception though natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life (Psalm 139:1ff).
MARRIAGE, GENDER, & SEXUALITY
- We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complimentary sexes together reflect the image and nature of God (Genesis 1:26-27). Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.
- We believe that marriage is ordained of God and defined by Him as the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture (Genesis 2:18-25). Therefore, Trinity Bible Church will only recognize marriages between a biological man and a biological woman. Further, the pastors and staff of Trinity Bible Church shall only participate in weddings and solemnize marriages between one man and one woman. See Marriage Policy for more information.
- We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of Trinity Bible Church as the local Body of Christ, and to provide a Biblical role model to the members of Trinity Bible Church and the community, it is imperative that all persons employed by Trinity Bible Church in any capacity, or who serve as volunteers, agree to and abide by this Doctrinal Statement (Matthew 5:16; Philippians 2:14-16; 1 Thessalonians 5:22).
