TBC Glassboro Sermons and More · The Kingship Of Christ: Part 3 - Prophecy, The Davidic Covenant
In the Davidic Covenant, God promised that the promised King would be a descendent of David.
  • When your days are complete and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your descendant after you, who will come forth from you, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. - 2 Samuel 7:12-13

The promised descendant would build the Temple and his reign would be forever.  God will install this King and He will reign from Jerusalem.
  • But as for Me, I have installed My King Upon Zion, My holy mountain - Psalm 2:6

From Jerusalem, the King will subdue His enemies and rule over them.
  • The Lord says to my Lord: Sit at My right hand Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet. The Lord will stretch forth Your strong scepter from Zion, saying, Rule in the midst of Your enemies. - Psalm 110:1-2

This descendant from the tribe of Judah and the lineage of David will be born in Bethlehem but will be also be eternal (Micah 5:2).  In Psalm 110:1, states that the Lord (YHWH) spoke to my Lord (Adonai).  YHWH represents the Father and Adonai represents the Son.  The Son will sit at His Father’s right hand and reign.  Thus, the One who will be King is none other than the eternal Son of God.    Presently, He rules from Heaven, but one day, He will rule from New Jerusalem over the whole world.
  • I kept looking in the night visions, And behold, with the clouds of heaven One like a Son of Man was coming, And He came up to the Ancient of Days And was presented before Him. And to Him was given dominion, Glory and a kingdom, That all the peoples, nations and men of every language Might serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion Which will not pass away; And His kingdom is one Which will not be destroyed. - Daniel 7:13-14

    WHY TWO MINUTES?

The Two-Minute Rule states “When you start a new habit, it should take less than two minutes to do.”   The idea behind the rule is to make a habit easy to start.
One of the goals for 2-Minute Theology is to help believers develop a theological habit.
Another goal is to provide believers with a resource they can use to 'test the spirits' to see if they are from God.
